Do you know someone who is
over 70 and lives alone? If
so you should encourage them
to find out about the “Lone
Pensioner Allowance” This is
a new scheme introduced in April
2008 to give eligible pensioners
a 20% discount on their rates.
This scheme applies to people
who are over 70 and live alone
and pay rates for their home.
It is NOT means tested so it
does not depend on income or
savings. In certain circumstances
some people over 70 who do not
live alone may still be eligible.
